Texture & Pressure

1.  What direction did you take the word pressure?   I used the theoretical meaning of pressure to create my project. This being said, I wanted it to symbolize peer pressure, but also include literal pressure I put on the clay to carve in the words and designs.

2.  Tell me about your process, from idea, sketch, beginning to finish. I used Pinterest and Google to find a quote I wanted to use for the piece, and once I did this, I created a sketch of what I wanted it to look like. Next, I created a rectangular slab and made one half taller than the other. Next, I etched in the quote with different fonts for each word. Last, we bisqued it, used a clear glaze, and fired it for a last time.

3.  What is at least 1 thing you feel you did successfully and why? I think I was successful in writing the quote in different fonts. I did this to symbolize the many types of personalities and expectations that each person holds.

4.  What is 1 thing you would like to change about your piece and why? If I could change one thing, I would make it taller, and I would create a hole on the back so that I could hang it on my wall.
